Indeed. Happy New Year and best of luck all!
zugmann Another year gone. I apologize for all you people that chose to read what I wrote here this past year. And here's to you if you're crazy enough to read my crap again in 2018.

Thanks to Chris / CopCarSS for my avatar.
Happy New Year to all as well.
Had an early dinner with the wife and another couple, celebrating the 22nd anniversary of when my wife and I met.
Zugmann- Now that's funny!
Too close to the noise here this morning and the sad aftermath that led much of the national news today. A mile and a half to the N-NW of us. 2018 will be better.
The anticipatory fireworks have been going off for the past two hours or so and there is still a hour and a half to midnight.
May 2018 be better for everyone than 2017 was.
Never too old to have a happy childhood!
It's been fun. But it isn't much fun anymore. Signing off for now.
The opinions expressed here represent my own and not those of my employer, any other railroad, company, or person.t fun any
tree68 Here's hoping that I get to sit here at the house with a late-night snack, and maybe watch the festivities on TV. It's too cold to have to be out dealing with some drunk who wasn't wise enough to find another way home and found a ditch or power pole instead. Or with the carnage he/she may create.

Many of our usual New Year's festivities have been cancelled on account of the cold, supposed to be -40°C again tonight with the wind chill.
Fireworks are still going ahead though, but most people will probably be watching from inside their cars.

Clear blocks for all!
I have a friend in the ham radio world who used to be in charge of power distribution for the NY subways. He spent many NYE's at the command center at Times Square. Now he enjoys them at home.
He did say that one reason you don't see much of Times Square on TV after the ball drops is because in no time it's a ghost town...

2018...are you kidding me? If I knew I'd make it this far I would have taken better care of myself!
May all of your signals be correct and may all of your equipment operate as you want it to so that you have a safe, wonderful and HAPPY NEW YEAR. The wife and I will watch the Times Sq. ball drop on TV and then watch the Chicago coverage on TV and if the furnace continues to funtion properly, we'll be snug in bed and start to enjoy another new year.
Lost 10 lbs already and not even the New Year yet.......how about that? Happy New Year to all though. My biggest wish is someone finds funding for both the Gateway project (Amtraks 2 new tunnels) and to complete the CREATE list of projects in Chicago. Feel both are vital to the country and rail.
Yes, this year is almost done.May next year be a better and more pleasant one for all of us.
I quit staying up years ago. When I was living in the step-father apartment my wife's older daughter and I were buying, her daughter and her friends did not disturb me when they stayed up late to welcome the new year in.
Johnny
And the same to you sir!
Oh, I'll be safe all right, I'm beyond greeting the new year by blowing stuff up in the backyard at midnight! Dammit.
Another new year upon us.....be safe!!!?
