EuclidAre railroad customer complaints pretty unusual?
When carriers are operationally delivering the service in the accustomed manner to the cutomer, complaints progressing beyond the company's Customer Service organiation are rare - about the service alone. When a carrier goes into gridlock the complaints become hot and heavy and they go way beyond the carrier to Congress and the White House. Points of reference are the UP meltdowns when they took over the CNW and later the SP. Both the CSX & NS meltdowns that followed the ConRail split and acquisition. And now CSX with EHH plan of destruction.
Cusotmers will routinely complain about the costs of service, fuel surcharges and being 'captive' to a individual carrier no matter how good or bad the operating departments is placing and pulling cars on schedule.
Never too old to have a happy childhood!

His comments about operating management when he arrived is enlightning - they were trying to make and operate successful operations, so of course they didn't agree to his turd drop methods to race to be unsuccessful.
