There is no need to be anxious about the longevity of concrete structures.

Look at the remaining concrete coaling towers. Built from the mid 1920s the oldest are in their 90s now. And they are not even prestressed.

Bridges on high speed rail lines (up to 200 mph) are mostly built as prestressed concrete structures here in Germany. And they not built for just 20 years. AFAIK the contractural live span is 100 years.

Good news we are in the middle of building a new station after 30 years

Bad News- The New York State poltico related contruction company is holding the project hostage in the middle of the project.

Today I talked to Susan at NYS DOT and she explained that the orginal contractor gave up when the technacalitys of working around live CP (Ex D&H) tracks were too much to handle. The contract is now split between 2 Constuction firms (No doubt Politico connected). The steel bridge beams which are about 100 years old are to be replaced with prestressed concreate culverts (which will age out in 15 to 25 years just after NYS DOT who was in charge of this project retires) Nothing is changing to the station house but passengers may have to wait out in the cold until Nov 2019 while contruction is now underway. In unrealted news China is adding 300 miles of high speed rail with stations in the next 3 years.
