The uP has one of the largest freight railroad owned passenger car fleets in the US. They are called the "Heritage Fleet". They are used for inspection trips, customer specials and public events. They are based out of the former CNW shops in Council Bluffs, IA. All are maintained to full working condition.

This was no ragtag bunch of old cars, with perhaps, the exception of the dome car; the cars were all matching UP livery, very clean and well-kept.
Junior Yardmaster
UP has a bunch of cars and domes they use for various purposes. Great P.R.
I don’t have any details, but the one you saw, junior yardmaster, may be a movement to Chicago to wine and dine a customer. Someone undoubtedly will have more details ...

It's now 23 minutes after 1 PM; I just witnessed a UP passenger train headed eastbound at Rochelle; saw it on the webcam. One thing which really stuck out was a dome car! Anyone have an idea on what this rare sight was about?
