I need help locating a subject

It's either something I came across in a Trains Magazine, a Discovery Channel documentary, or a video. In the subject there was mention to the dragging of long sections of rail down the center of the track and the tremendous friction caused by this could generate enough heat to get ties smokin'.

I belive what your looking for is "Working on the Railroad", a video by Pentrax about MOW machines and the men who run them.
I vaguely remember something like that, although it has been a few years since I viewed it.

I saw a photo in a Pacific RailNews magazine of a WC GP35 2556 dragging two sections of half-mile rail down the line. Pretty neat! I wonder how that works out going around a curve? And over crossings!
