I saw her in the shop all torn apart and it nearly broke my heart too see her like that. But then again the Challenger was right next to her so it pretty much cancelled out. I cant wait to see her pulling a train out on the mainline again!! RJ "Something hidden, Go and find it. Go and look behind the ranges, Something lost behind the ranges. Lost and waiting for you. UP #844 on Wednesday November 10, 2004 ran under steam in the yard in Cheyenne, WY. This is the first time that UP #844 has been fired up and under steam since Railfair 1999 . The locomotive has undergone extensive overhaul. So maybe the big Northern will come and run around on the mainline next summer. The UP Historical Society is at www.uphs.org There are some pictures of the #844 running in the yard. I hope there are plans to paint the boiler.
