i have read my "user profile" and "user setttings".. nothing there about editing my posts.. could there be some administrative issue involved in my acct. that disable "edits" to my posts? it sounds dumb, but i cant think of anything else..

thank for your not-so-illuminating post.. do you furnish a blueprint to help in understanding it? does this relate to the opening topic, "to edit or not edit"? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ If someone quotes your post, changes to your original post do not follow on to the quote. So if, f'rinstance, you posted something you later regret, you can change the original post, but any and all quotes of that post will remain until that poster goes in and changes his/her post. Confused yet?

it really doesnt say anything, you have to read it.. it reads "reply" and "quick reply".. i have posted this phrase several times.. is anyone reading that part of my posts? If you go back up to your original post at the top of this page, what do the gray boxes in the lower right hand corner of that post say?

Good thing you folks can't see what I originally said here!

 I've been called worse.

As a utility contractor I was working with this past summer said, after a passing motorist said some impolite things about him (and us):

It's been fun.  But it isn't much fun anymore.   Signing off for now.

Confused yet?

A few years ago, there was great chaos as a regular poster asked that any posts which included quotes of his posts be edited to remove references to him.

For a little while, you couldn't tell what was current and what had been drug up from the depths.

Not really the "Page", but the actual posting you want to edit.

Jay,

Then you are not viewing your original post, or you are logged on with a different screen name or user ID...to see the edit button you must be logged on with the same email address and user name as the post was made under, then it should show "edit" , "reply" and "quick reply" on the lower right of the page.

I'm glad someone asked about that as I need to edit a post myself. However I only have reply/quick reply on my page, nothing else in the bottom right corner?

The lower right hand corner of your post should have three gray boxes that say
edit    reply   quick reply
Those boxes are visiable only to you, and only if you are loggin in at the time.

Yes, you should see an "Edit" button in the lower right-hand corner.
