A merry Christmas and peace to all!

To all my friends at Kalmbach, and to the forum family, a very Merry Christmas…
And to my buddies who have to work tomorrow….it’s double time and a half, 8 straight and 8 overtime hours pay…suck it up!
Seriously, all stay safe, stay sober and have a happy and safe holiday!

Merry Christmas to all of you who have put up with me throughout the year, and contribute to our general fund of knowledge of what railroading is all about--what it has been, and what it is now.

Schlimm, Zugmann, I rode the Zittau railway a few years ago amongst others in East Germany. Does anyone here like steam powered trains? Anybody? Anybody? Bueller?

If so, go to East Germany. And to all, a Merry Christmas or happy Hanukkah or Kwanzaa, whatever as the case may be. Cheers!

Merry Christmas to all.

We will be having a brown Christmas with temps around freezing.

We have had a flu bug around the area which has resulted in sudden last minute plan chages for tomorrow. Nothing that can't be dealt with, except that my Mom's health has gotten to the point where she doesn't deal well with confusion anymore. I hope everything will get squared away.

Merry Christmas.

Thank you, Murphy and all, and a merry Christmas indeed to you. There's simply no other railroad conversation like this one, and I sure wouldn't want to be without it. Looking forward to more of the same in the new year!

No, it's actually the Zittauer Narrow Gauge Railway, in the southeastern corner of Germany (where Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic meet) in Saxony's Zittau Mountains Nature Park.

I love those German steam engines.  They just look so much like brutes.

Some year I'd love to go over there.

50s and rain here, so the only snow to be found is in photos.

It's been fun.  But it isn't much fun anymore.   Signing off for now.

Bah, Humbug!  (just kidding)

Have a Merry Christmas and a great 2015 everyone.

"By many measures, the U.S. freight rail system is the safest, most efficient and cost effective in the world." - Federal Railroad Administration, October, 2009. I'm just your average, everyday, uncivilized howling "anti-government" critic of mass government expenditures for "High Speed Rail" in the US. And I'm gosh darn proud of that.

Tat the Harz Narrow Gauge, Schlimm?

Merry Christmas to all on this forum.  We don't always agree - but what fun would this place be if we did?

It's been fun.  But it isn't much fun anymore.   Signing off for now.

And the very same to you, Murph, as well as everyone else.  Every now and then we get a little off track (pun intended), but by and large, we're just one big, happy, (if occasionally dysfunctional) family.

Happy Holidays!
