The Pilbara rail operations are pretty much in the middle of nowhere and aren't part of the rest of the Australian rail network, three different gauges and all.

 

Yes they are isolated though it's still a part of Aussie railroading..

Aussie railroading is great! Peter! Where are you at?

 BHP SD70ACe hauling iron ore train in North-Western Australia. They can go  to over 40,000 tons with distributed power. : r/trains
