Maybe he thought the election was on October 3rd.
Have fun with your trains
This is a prediction. If the pollsters are wrong and Obama DOESN'T win, it will NOT be said that people did not want his style of government. We will be told that he didn't get elected ONLY because we are a nation of racist rednecks. Then the media and entertainment industry will go into full attack mode on McCain, repeating the last 8 years of propaganda that started even before Bush was in office.
Reality TV is to reality, what Professional Wrestling is to Professional Brain Surgery.

Soo,
Since you asked, the forum policy can be found here:
http://cs.trains.com/trccs/forums/t/87420.aspx
Down at the bottom of the page addresses copyrighted material:
- Please respect copyright material. If you want to share copyright material with our users, please link to it. Don't take a story from another Web site and post it in our forum. Don't take a photo that you don't own the rights to and use it in our forum. [Underline mine]
A little farther up the page also addresses political discussion:
- No political discussions or signature messages. We know, railroads are sometimes affected by politics. However, we've found that political discussions almost always turn into arguments. We have a common thread of being interested in railroads. Don't let that common bond be destroyed by political differences.
Can we please keep the conversation here more railroad-related? Thanks for your cooperation.

Time...It marches on...without ever turning around to see if anyone is even keeping in step.
A couple grand in a CD at my bank from tax refunds and stimulus checks, vs an x-box on top of someone else's TV that I bought for them. That is my indication. The CD my kids got from Slick Willy only is worth the rating (warning) label printed on the package.
Poppa_Zit Soo 6604 Poppa_Zit TrainManTyI vote we not get into politics here... Are you a registered voter? I'm registered 4 times and both of my cats are registered 3 times each. I just have to figure out how to register each of my email accounts and my forum name. Help ACORN!!! <eyeroll> Gotta have some fun. 7 more days until we can watch commercials without the saying "I approve this message" (just saw it on TV). I think if a person cheats and votes four times, they should have to pay 4x income taxes.

I'll just wait for the "Chosen One" to come into power and then wait for my welfare, I mean my "tax break" check from the people who make too much money by spreading the wealth.

Ed >> ...Obama and his tax-and-spend liberal cohorts...
Jack > Interesting. Perhaps you could tell me how the Reagan/Bush1/Bush2 policy of borrow and spend is better?
Murphy Siding Poppa_Zit TrainManTyI vote we not get into politics here... Are you a registered voter?I am a registered voter, and I feel the same way as TrainManTy. Anybody want to talk about trains. We're all pretty sick of politics.
Murph, the guy voted we not get into politics here. My question was "are you registered to vote here?" Maybe I should have worded it more clearly.
wgnrr Would Trains.com be so kind as to remove that comment from the News Wire? It really degrades from the credibility of Kalmbach Publishing by posting information that they know is offensive to many people, including myself, and downright wrong to begin with. Phil

Phil
How does it degrade the credibility, by posting a quote that someone made?
An "expensive model collector"
Wrong? If he said it, then he said it. And no, I don't see a loss of credibility here at all. Just someone who is getting all worked up for something minor.
It's been fun. But it isn't much fun anymore. Signing off for now.
The opinions expressed here represent my own and not those of my employer, any other railroad, company, or person.t fun any

WSORatSussexPerhaps the CSX leadership team is looking forward to the additional fees and regulations Obama and his tax-and-spend liberal cohorts could bring to the industry.

Perhaps the CSX leadership team is looking forward to the additional fees and regulations Obama and his tax-and-spend liberal cohorts could bring to the industry. But, the election HAS NOT been held yet, and perhaps CSX is a less attractive investment with that leadeship style at the helm.

CShaveRRAlthough you're absolutely right, Quentin, I'm not so sure Ward was being optimistic when he said this
Yes, I understand that Carl and I believe you're correct in the assumption. But I certainly am trying to be.
Speaking of being optimistic......Look at today's Market gain....10%...!!!!!!!!
It used to take at least a year to make gains like that.....!

Optimism.....Bring it on....we need more and lots of it.
ATHENS, W.Va. - CSX chief Michael Ward blasted the idea of a U.S. energy policy that doesn't include coal, calling it "one of the stupidest things you could do," the Charleston, W.Va., Daily Mail has reported. "I think where our country is headed with energy policy is abysmal," he said. In a speech at Concord University, Ward said America needs to find ways to burn coal more cleanly, and endorsed clean-coal technology, as well as more nuclear power. "We are the Saudi Arabia of coal. It is an abundant, low-cost energy," Ward said. "Hopefully President Obama and his colleagues in the House and Senate will bring a proper policy to the nation so we can have coal in its proper spot," he said. CSX serves coal mines in the Appalachian and Ohio River regions.
I thought the elections were held on November 4th?
