I just figured I would make mine obvious. A railfan living in the Ozarks. Just wanted to keep it simple.

I worked for an Iron Ore Railroad in Western Australia (then Mt Newman Mining, now BHP Billiton Iron Ore) which, when I was there, used only Alco and Montreal design locomotives. They didn't like the Montreal design trucks on the M636 locomotive, and fitted Alco Hi-Ad trucks. (They aren't interchangeable, the builder had to design a new frame). Since C630s with Montreal trucks are called C630M, logically an M636 with C636 trucks is an M636C. Eventually they were forced to buy locomotives with Montreal trucks, and all but one of those has been scrapped (or preserved). Only one Hi Ad unit has gone, (although they have all been rebuilt as GE Dash-8s).

My first screename was CNRAIL because it's my favotite personaly, probably because I grew up along the line. When TRAINS changed format I lost it somewhere so I went to my other great hobby, old big block Dodges........ gotta keep it easy to remember.

The first part should be obvious to all rrnut = foamer, nut job or any of the affectionate terms profession railroaders have for us. 2-8-2 in the Whyte locomotive classification system is the Mikado type which usually got shortened to mike. I couldn't get the dashes to work in my screen name, so I shortened it. So, put it all together and you have Mike, the railfan, more or less.

By the way, this is an interesting thread. Most of the screen names are fairly intuitive, but others need lots of explaining.

Mine comes from the neighborhood in which I grew up plus the reporting marks for the local commuter railroad. It was a great place to watch trains, especially when you could watch from your back yard.
The daily commute is part of everyday life but I get two rides a day out of it. Paul

45144 - I explained a little of this on another thread

British Rail class 45 were my favourite (With a U guys) loco as a kid and I spent 15 years in the Royal Corps Of Signals ((British Army) . The name of 45144 was Royal Signals so it all drops together pretty well if a) you realise its a loco number and b) you know the names of your British locos

I could have really confused even the Brits on this thread by using the original number D55 but most of the guys I know will recognise the TOPS system based on an SP prototype eg class 45 running number 144

Look closely at my profile photo, then you tell me how I came to choose my handle. [:)]

"B-Dubya" for short, cause I started using this name right around the time that "Dubya" entered the North American lexicon, and it's shorter to type.
B-Dubya -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Inside every GE is an Alco trying to get out...apparently, through the exhaust stack!

Hey Dan, after Bosnia, I'm surprised you didn't use something like 'Midnight Flyer'. It could have been good in two ways, because you actually were and I'm sure there must have been a train somewhere called the 'Midnight Flyer'. Anyway, I'm Scottydog for a simple reason, I was born in Scotland.

My name came from the anthracite coal mining company several of my relatives worked for. The Reading Anthracite Coal Co. "Buy Famous Reading Anthracite" The company came about when the government broke up the Reading into separate Railroad, Canal, Coal Mining, Iron Mining, and Finance companies.

No after Bosnia I would have named myself DUMB@#%, which is an old Indian term for man who inadventently travels through minefields. As the Brit Major said to me afterwards .......the good lord apparently looks after fools, drunks and little children and as a navy pilot apparently you meet that criteria.

I grew up in St. Charles, IL. If we (the family) went to Chicago, we took the C&NW, either commuter or the Kate Shelley 400. I then went to school at Northwestern U. in Evanston. I would sometimes visit the folks on weekends, taking C&NW to Chicago, then out to Geneva.
I still take Metra UP to Ravinia for concerts. The name just seemed logical.

Well as long as anyone can remember i have loved trains, hence the "Train". I'm a guy... so theres your "Guy". Although many people who first meet me think the "3" means the third Train Guy, it doesn't. I added the 3 after the death of Dale Earnhardt in 2001.

[}:)] Well, I was starting to shop on E-Bay in the late 90's and since I was a stage
magician I figured to use the name of a famous magician. He was playing the role
of a chinese magician that spoke bad spanish. He was famous in south america.
Things were fine till someone else contacted me and said he was using "Fu-Manchu"
for the same reason. So, I added the "Dr" to the handle and then the name was of a
evil chinese fellow in the Sax Romer books. In fact, a fellow that I bought a CDRom from
understood the reference to the evil Dr. The first one since I started using it. Due to a
medical condition(heart problem) I can't do my stage act. But, at some point I may use
my screen name for a stage show. Till then, I play with my Lionel Trains and visit my
friends at the Golden Gate Railroad Musuem In San Francisco, Ca. For my full scale
fix. [swg]

Most of the patients we see can't reach their feet, let alone lick them. [:P]

I might have to bring Mookie in as an alternative therapy consultant to at least give them that option. What would a reasonable salary look like for Mookie? Double layer chocolate fudge cake per consult?

I picked my name because Wisconsin Central, hence the (wcfan), (4) cause its easier to type out than four and (ever) because they will always be around as long as I'm around regaurdless of what [}:)]CN[}:)] does with the equipment.

Its the sound created by the sudden decceleration of over-ripe fruit makes as it impacts a rigid surface following a rapid decent from a tall structure.

Ah Scotty - it's a kid thing - back in the 40's. It is baby cereal - before Gerber's decided to make it look better. It was really pretty yucky - but lots of war babies were raised on it!

Pretty simple really until it gets in someone's paw.... [}:)]
