One of the most frequent comments we hear from you, our readers, is how much you’d like to go with the staff or correspondents in the field. You’d like to be with us to see the things we get to see on your behalf. That’s understandable. Thanks to the miracle of live streaming webcams, we’ve got some exciting opportunities for you this fall.
If you’re online Saturday morning, next Wednesday, or Oct. 29-31, be sure to check out our live streaming Webcam (www.TrainsMag.com/BigSteam) that will be showing Union Pacific No. 844 on its Tennessee tour. Correspondent Hayley Enoch will be with the camera tomorrow in Memphis and Wednesday in Oklahoma, while correspondent Chase Gunnoe takes over for the home stretch from Kansas City to Cheyenne, Wyo. As a bonus, Hayley will also live stream Iowa Pacific’s excursion behind a matching Illinois Central consist with E8s on the point.
In early November, we’ll be live streaming seminars from the Association of Tourist Railroads & Railway Museums annual meeting in Savannah, Ga. And come December we’re planning on live streaming Canadian Pacific’s Holiday Train as it passes through Wisconsin. More details on the schedules for those as we get closer to the time.
We’re always looking for ways to bring you with us to watch and share and enjoy the trains together. Live streaming is a part of that, and we’re pleased to continue this, our third year of live streaming railroad news events as they happen. Got an idea for our next round of live streaming? Drop a note to me at editor@trainsmag.com.
