Delayed by a train

The general public often claims that being late to work is the result of being "held up by a train." For railroad enthusiasts, that expression has a slightly different connotation - yeah, I was held up by a train all right, but that's only because I was photographing it while on the way in to the office.

So, although I have been (ahem) held up by a train on occasion, today's experience was a first: I was held up by a track. Not an actual railroad track, but by rail. A truckload of 39-foot lengths of rail. A disabled truckload, which blocked the entire right lane of westbound I94 in Milwaukee.

Why not just ship this rail... by rail?
