You may remember that I took a short trip out to see the Montana Rail Link back in May. It's time for me to head to Montana again, and I'd like you to follow along!
My brother, a friend, and I will be flying out to Big Sky Country on September 8, and we'll be there through September 18 to catch some action on the Montana Rail Link main line. Hopefully we'll catch some MRL local action as well. Once again, it won't be all trains. We hope to get in some quality time fishing, camping, hiking, and perhaps sampling Montana's finest microbrews. Some friends (including Trains Graphic Designer Drew Halverson and Model Railroader and Classic Toy Trains Senior Kent Johnson) will be joining us for the latter part of our trip as well. Both of them are Montana virgins, so it should be interesting to see if they end up loving it out there as much as I do. (I think that will be nearly impossible, knowing how much I love it.)I thought it would be fun to share some of my experiences with the great readers of Trains magazine and this website. Check us out from Thursday, September 8 through Sunday, September 18 on Twitter and Facebook. Look for "#TomMRL" to see my updates. Since I'll be camping at times, I may not have computer access every day. However, I'll do my best to keep you up to date about what is happening along the railroad. Hopefully, I'll be able to share a few photos as well. Until then ...
