At the Cochise & Western Model Railroad Club's HO-scale layout in Sierra Vista, Arizona, members are free to run whatever they want. Personally, I prefer steam, but have a few diesel locomotives as well. One member has an Acela, but we don't have catenary anywhere on the club layout. Because Sierra Vista is just outside the main gate of Fort Huachuca, a large U.S. Army post, members are from all over the country and each has his or her favorite railroad that they model. One member was raised in Rock Island, Illinois, so the Rock Island is his favorite. I was raised in southern Illinois, so I prefer the Illinois Central, Missouri Pacific, or Chicago and Eastern Illinois, which were the roads in that area. Others prefer the Norfolk Southern, Santa Fe, or Burlington Northern. One member, who is still in the Army and is currently in Germany, has two German Intercity Express (ICE) trains. We also have N-scalers and G-scalers in the club.

I model mid 70's Amtrak mostly but have 2 0-6-0 switchers for excursions running around.

Other than that it's E8/9's F7's an SD9 and various diesel switchers.

i model in n-scale and steam rules on my layout with the new 4-6-2's and 2-8-0's and a 2-8-2 by kato the rest are model power and bachmann spectrums. i'll soon be adding bach 4-8-2's and model power 2-8-2's maybe all these number are confusing for some of those diesel type guys. i do have some gp7's two e-7 and a rs-1. and modeling in the 1940's WWII escpically.

I used to live in Sierra Vista, Arizona and the closest train to the Buena Vista High end of town was way down in the valley before the river partway between Tombstone and Sierra Vista. Never saw what train ran there toward Bisbee/Naco.

Have one Brill Trolley, no working steam, plan at least some electric, Japan railway or Bullet Train or Acela between LA and Vegas. Run them right over/thru the mountains on a second level.
