Would like a big C-636. I've talked to Stewart, but they say all new tooling and chassis would be needed. :(

A C-636 would be great and I could even model it in the current the day. Have you seen any pictures from the Delaware & Lackawanna lately? They operate the only C-636 in the United States and perhaps world??

I could go for more Alco's any day. I love the Century line of locos [:P]! I really would like to see their locos with the Hi-Ad trucks produced. Gimme a few C430's, C630's, and C636's and I'll be a happy consumer!

I'd settle for a D&H PA. I missed the last run of these.

Gordon

Brought to you by the letters C.P.R. as well as D&H!

I am on a quest to outfit my N-scale fleet with some decent-running high-nose RSD-15's. I have a few usable shells from the old AHM or MDC production of just such a loco, and have been attempting to fit an Atlas or Kato drive into it. The Trainmaster is a near-perfect match, in terms of wheelbase and overall length, but the frame is too big to simply drop in, and so... (you folks know how it goes)

I want more N-scale Alcos! Some NW high-nose Centuries would be terrific, and of course I want my RSD-15. Or RSD-12. Why not both?

I'll vote for a high- and low-nose RSD15 "alligator", preferably by Proto 2000 (with a Canadian RSD17 version from Hobbycraft?) but otherwise by Atlas.

An RSD17? I thought that CP had the only Canadian RSD17, the "Empress of Agincourt".
B-Dubya -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Inside every GE is an Alco trying to get out...apparently, through the exhaust stack!

C430's, C630's and C636's would be nice in N gauge. The C424/425 is nice now it s been issued. Perhaps RSD15's and C420's with a decent chassis would be nice too. So how about it Life-Like, Atlas and Kato??

For Avondaleguy in particular.

The Minitrix U28C chassis fits under the AHM bodyshell of the RSD15 and there is an old Model Railroader article, January 1981, that explains how to do it as well as fitting the same chassis under the C636.

What on earth are M424's and M430's?

Perhaps you mean M420's and M630's?

Me, I'd just like a Dofasco truck retrofit for the Stewart C630 so I can build all kinds of neat stuff...
I just successfully used the Prototype Model Industries "Dofasco Sideframe Set" to convert my Stewart C630s to CN style. It was a lot of work but I even managed to relocate a gear and keep the power to the 3rd axle. Email for details if interested.

The M424 is in production by Atlas. It's actually called the C424 (the M designation didn't get used until the M420). And yes, the Atlas C424 Canadian version is correct for both CP and CN (They have the correct numberboards and everything, as Atlas produced a distinct Canadian version of this Model ).

Those Minitrix U-boats, and the FM switcher as well, were very versatile and lent themselves to all sorts of interesting conversions. IIRC, the trucks were interchangable between the different models. And they didn't run too badly, either.
