I'll be running 4. My fictional home line, and intercange/run-through with BN, SP, and the ATSF-All in Texas. My brother models D&H, so strange things will turn up on both layouts.

2 roads. My primary model interest is CN transition era but I also have some CP equipment in that nice maroon and gray. There is no formal interchange on my layout at the present, but I would like to include one in my forthcoming layout redesign.

In my model railroad world my railroad owns and operates the LNE, Reading, and CNJ. They also have agreements with the B&O, C&O, Western Maryland, PRSL, and PRR. SO any of these roadnames can show up. I also model a later period and Chesssie, and Penn Central can show up.

I model Union Pacific, Southern Pacific, BNSF, Amtrak, (short line) Pacific Harbor lines, and not but not least National de Mexico (NDEM). By the way I just added another road name just recently, Texas Mexican Railway.

It's interesting how many people run a "real" railroad and a freelance road as well. (Do I hear a future poll coming?) I do the same. My HO scale layout features the Missouri Pacific in the early 80's with my own freelance Cedar Branch & Western. Its time frame shifts depending on which engine and cabooses I pull out.

I can't imagine modeling any more railroads. I've got more Mopac engines and cabooses than I could ever run in a month! And I just keep hitting eBay....(hey, where's the ‘bid now' button?)

Happy Rails, [:o)]

beside a quite large swiss railway collection I run only one american RR: IC, as a souvenir of my study timesin Illinois. I started because models in the US were so cheap compared to european... for the price of 4 european engines I brought home a full railroad!

lately a few 'foreigner steam engines (N&W, UP)' sneaked in.. i just could not resist!

I run anything under the sun and my own railroad (Sheboygan & Lake Superior). I used to by anything that looked good, but now I am mostly buying modern equipment unless a model catches my eye and undecorated models.
I love the smell of ALCo smoke in the Morning. "Long live the 251!!!" I miss the GBW and my favorite uncle is Uncle Pete. Uncle Pete eats Space Noodles for breakfast.

I run C&O and B&O since C&O had 80% stock control of the B&O by 1960 it made sense to run them both on my layout.
