Can anyone tell me if the Kato HO track is good to use on a layout with DCC?

You'd have to use the new Kato Power pack that just came out. It connects with the Digitrax Zephyr. www.katousa.com

I have a layout using Kato HO UniTrack and use a Lenz DCC system with a DigiTrax power supply. It works just fine for me.

I have a "WGH" track set from Kato that I use with my MRC Prodigy Advance DCC system. It works fine with DCC. The first major thing to consider is that if you want to create districts or add a reversing loop, you will need to use insulated rail joiners and wire things appropriately. Another thing to keep in mind is that some of the Kato turnouts come configuerd for "power routing" and thus shut off the section of track that is not selected by the turnout. This can be reconfigured fairly easily. For use on a DCC system, I would recommend using the "non-power routing" configuration. The instructions explain this option clearly (at least in my opinion). The Kato power pack is not required to use DCC with Kato's Unitrack.
