Well, ...Have them land the plane John I'd much rather take a ship too Never have been too fond of flying I'll ride that ship with ya if you can get them to land the plane and I will get the ship Captain to pull the ship over into the airport to pick you up somewhere along the way as long as we arrive in New Zealand by 7:30 AM

I have not done many of things for many Blue Moons Ray!
But thanks for the reminder I didn't even know that was tonight I will go outside a few times to take a look
Evenin' Folks!
I'm happy with either location. Was hoping to travel to see my son in England sometime, but since they are not open at the moment, I will postpone that and continue to see him on Zoom for a while longer... LOL
The Bear should be able to give us a great tour if we go to NZ, but I am very impressed with Garretts as well.
Whatever, is better than hanging around here, except for the Blue Moon outside... I did pop out of the house and have a look see on that. Beau-----tif----full it is!

Yippee!
Some great food in S. Africa. A dish called bobotie is really good. Can't forget the Mrs. Ball's Chutney. We actually sent to the U.K. to some. Use it instead of ketchup. I was in the cab of a class 25N steamer that was used to pull the train out of the station. Do a youtube search on the Red Devil and you should find video of a really great engine in S. Africa.
Having salmon for dinner in a sweet chili sauce.

Thanks for the explanation, Ed. If it is N Z then it is Lord of the Rings.

To the world you are someone. To someone you are the world
I cannot afford the luxury of a negative thought
Cool!
Than New Zealand it is!
Ya Guys have a Happy Fiddler
hon30critter I would like to learn more about the funny looking steam engines used in South Africa that had what looks like an extra tender out front.
You're in luck, Dave! They have Garratts in New Zealand, too

Hi Ed,
You are most welcome to move the Diner. I was about to make the same offer but I'll happily let you have the honour. I was going to ask Kevin directly if he wanted to do the job again since he did such a good job for October.
I'm easy with any of the three possible locations. I would like to learn more about the funny looking steam engines used in South Africa that had what looks like an extra tender out front. I don't understand how they work. Heck, I don't even know what they're called.
Cheers!!
NorthBritI do not understand this moving from Michigan,
The Diner rolls into a new location on the first of each month, David. One of us elects to be the host and we can all join in to explore the culture, railways and foods of the region.
We will be sheltered-in-place in the diner so no Covid worries.
I just let the cat out and saw the huge, full, Blue Moon! Perfect for Halloween!
Cheers, Ed
Are you kidding me Ed?
Hands down we go to New Zealand where Spring just sprung and visit our old friend The Bear in his native Homeland habitat over there.
Count me in on that one!
I do not understand this moving from Michigan, but England will be on lockdown until 2nd December
Four hours to go before we pull the pin on the Diner in Michigan.
I've heard two suggestions IIRC, South Africa or New Zealand? Or was it Australia proper?
IF I don't hear any feedback, I'll take the reins and move us to South Africa for a look-see. They have a dish there called Bunny Chow (Not the Energizer Bunny, I hope ) Or a tasty Chakalaka?
Or would we prefer New Zealand? A Mãori Boil Up? Marmite on the side. A Pavlova for dessert...
Four hours to decide —

I think your truck will be alright Alvie. I have accidentally done that a time or two
Went to my buddy Erv's today Had some good conversation and got my rear wheel wells on my truck sprayed with the rubberized undercoating so the panels I put on this summer don't rust out this winter
Picked up Judy at 4:30 from the hotel and went straight to the pumpkin patch It was way busy so she had me stop by at the grocery store and got some big orange peppers
Kind of silly These are our pumpkins this year
Can you guess which one is mine
She's making stuffed peppers this year for dinner so it won't be too silly later
Hi all,
My last post on the topic for this month! Wishing everyone a Happy and safe Halloween this year.
Two things came up with my truck recently. I had forgotten I'd left my passenger side window down and went out to go to work Thursday afternoon after it had rained for many hours and of course the seat, carpet, and panel were oh so wet. And I couldn't address that at the moment as I had to go work. After work got out around 11pm, I went to a place with vacuums and that seemed to help, as did putting towels on the seats. I went at it again with my home shop vac and a heat gun and that too helped a lot to the point where it's dry to the touch. I sprayed it down with Febreeze and have a Damp-Rid thing inside to help. Teach me to double check my windows! In 18-years of driving, I've never left windows down and my interior got rained in. I had a crummy night at work and that may have contributed to my being a bit forgetful that night. On the same truck, my heat started to well not work, it'd blow cold air no matter how long I drove, and how high I turned up the heat. I get online and I see a few places suggest topping off the coolant reservoir and that seemed to help a lot. It's not burning my hands hot, but does blow hot air. I'd be glad if that holds up. I've had the truck about 3-years, two months, and two weeks, and overall it's held up extremely well, but I only put 30000 miles on it in a year according to inspections.
On the train front, I picked up some freight car kits and as those arrive I'll be looking forward to putting them together, adding detail parts I like, plus weathering, Sergent couplers, and Code88 wheels.
Sending some hopes and good wishes for all.
Alvie
I am another fan of Hunt for Red October. Both Sean Connery and Sam Neill were excellent in their respective rolls. "One ping only."
For the first time in our married life we are hunkering down for Halloween. The lights will be off and the door will be ignored. Lousy Covid.
Tonight everyone will change their time relationship with the State of Arizona.
Richard
All fine here except we are going code red Monday which means restaurants closed for 'in' dining, bars closed, etc. I need to book fir my annual physical. I'm ok with that but my wife will have me in basement quaranteen for 2 weeks afterwards.
We are getting TF's warm weather starting Monday, Today it is 30F with avery strong NW wind, a double reefed main and storm jib day from my sailing days.
Track fiddlerAnyone have a picture of that one they could post here? It's a shame living that thing in description from conversation.
Not the greatest camera work but this is one of the bigger machines:
There are quite a few videos of baby-brush cutters at work but those are pruning shears compared to what this fellow can do.
That time again? Set the clocks back for some of us. Comes around faster and faster every year!
The Hunt For Red October, yes! One of my favorite Sean Connery films. Excellent performances by a top-notch cast.
I hope everyone is well these days.

Is there anybody out there?
Just after 1:00 O-Clock and I'm heading to Prior Lake
Bye
We are going to go into a total lockdown for a month.
A letter from our National Health Service - because we are in a high risk group and we come down with Covid 19 and 'they are too busy' they will not treat us.
A Merry Christmas to them as well.
Stay safe everyone.
