Jarrell's Show Me Something! April, 2020
Posted by gmpullman on Wednesday, April 1, 2020 5:13 AM

Welcome to the APRIL, 2020

"Show Me Something"

Dedicated to the originator, Jarrell

This is a place where forum members can post their photographs featuring a view of a "requested" scene or object.

If you show the item requested you can then make a request of your own, or choose to stay with the current request.

After 24 hours, the same rules apply, or you can post a new photo of your choosing and make a new request. Your photos should be of models only, not a "real-life" scene. It's all about having fun! Let's see those photos!

All photographs should be original photographs taken my the person that posts them. If the model work is not your own, please give credit to the person or group that made the models.

April begins with the letter A, as in this Akron, Canton & Youngstown box car.

Kevin asked for the Letter "D".

I think all the "D's" in DT&I Qualifies.

How about the Letter "E"

Rule 1: This is my railroad.

Rule 2: I make the rules.

Rule 3: Illuminating discussion of prototype history, equipment and operating practices is always welcome, but in the event of visitor-perceived anacronisms, detail descrepancies or operating errors, consult RULE 1!

Everyone in Florida knows "F" is for FAMILY LINES. This scene is on the store layout at Dana's Railroad Supply in Spring Hill, Florida.

Show me the "G".

On to a mighty M.

I guess I could post any picture of a STRATTON AND GILLETTE steam locomotive and tell you it was a class "M", but that seems false.

Anyway, "M" should be the magnificent MIDLAND ROAD created by Tony Koester.

Show me the "N" please.

Kevin,

Great job on the Tyco car carrier.  Your paint job looks much more realistic than the original toyike orange and black plastic.  The buicks are a knockout!

This one is too easy. Even the late, great Pennsylvania Railroad was nicknamed "The 'P' Company.

Tim, thank you for the kind comments. Those Buicks are the reason that freight car exists. My wife saw the beautiful Buick models and she said that they needed to be on my layout. Unfortunately, they are 1955 models, and my layout is set in 1954.

I decided an open car carrier would make them work. They are on the way to the dealership for the September presentation of the new model year.

I added a lot of detail to the auto carrier, and I am very happy with it.

I wouldn't think there would be any objection to adding another S for Stratton and Gillette.

Please carry on with Wayne's "T" time!
