Well, I don't really know how many. The one thing I do know is that I don't have nearly enough. "Too much just ain't enough".[:D]

I have an LGB "G" steam with 8 freight cars.
I have an "N" steam with 4 freight cars.
I have a Lionel Penn Flyer steam still in the box.
I also have 3 "HO" diesels and 6 freight cars.
One proto 2k E8/9 AB set and a few passenger cars.

I have no layout, but I set them all up at Christmas for all the kids that come over to play with.
They all seem to like different scales.

Well let's see.
In O scale I have 3 engines and approximately 40 cars about half kits.
In O 3 rail I have 1 engine and 6 cars.
In HO scale I have 6 engines and approximately 50 cars, all kits except for 3 of the engines and 4 scratch/parts built cars.
In S scale I have 5 engines and approximately 50 cars about half and half kits and RTR.
In Sn2 I have 4 HOn3 engine kits to be modified and 6 cars. all kits but 1.

Now if only I can find the space and time to use it all.[:)][:)]

Enjoy
Paul

"Hey guys

I know this has been posted a thousand times before but since there are some new members over the holidays I was wondering how many locos do you have in your collection. For me I only have 12 locos and 112 freight cars. I only have a 4X8 layout too.

Interested to hear your thoughts

Jeremy"

Only a couple, eh? I have a few, and by a few I mean 10, cars. Haven't spent no money on a bunch of cars or a really good locomotive untill I have some track. Don't want anything getting broken lying around.,

Heh... you feel insignificant...check this out.

PRR J1
M1a
Heavy Mike.. all three BLI

Riverossi Heisler, MDC Shay with gear/axle problems and a life like 0-6-0 that is OOP.

There is a few spectrum steamers such as the 2-10-0, 4-6-0 There is a cow and calf in my stable that is very mean and onery... gotta work on that or... acquire a set of BLI's and be happy. Dont know which way I will go yet.

I have a Life Like 2-8-8-2 with QSI coming. That will be the star of the fleet. At one time I had too many engines and too many cars.. I have since executed my first "Clean-out" and will be weeding out the weak sisters among the 60+ rolling stock. The survivors get run regularly and maintained when I need to.

Holy cow...I feel a little insignificant with my 12 engines and ~100 cars. Wow. I can't even imagine how long it would take me to pick up more than 30 engines, and I've been doing this for 20 years!

I guess I am typical - been in the boby since the 60's and have done several 'clean-outs'. I still have:

40+ engines
250+ frt cars
7 pass cars
5 cabooses

About 50 of the frt cars are still 'projects' to be completed(or even started). The 5 steamers are DCC/Sound equipped, and about 16 diesels are DCC equipped. Most of the other engines are 'display case' stuff and I doubt if I will ever put a decoder in them.

OK, my engines go back to my childhood, some as far back as my Grandfather! Currently I have the following numbers in stock:

27 Locos (both steam and diesel)
36 Carriages
38 Wagons

So when I come to transfer over to DCC my decoder bill is going to be sky high!

25 functioning locomotives-- no brass, BLI, P2K, Athearn, Spectrum
230+ freight cars-- P2K, Athearn, Walthers, MDC, Accurail, Mckean
25 passenger cars-- Athearn

I sold all my crap LL, Bachmann, Tyco stuff off, and the ones I couldn't are used for airbrush practice.

At last count, 45 locomotives, everything from a V&T 4-4-0 to a CPR AC4400 + 3 waiting for me at my LHS, 29 Passenger cars + 4 waiting for me at my LHS & 134 freight cars all this on an uncomplete 9x12 layout.

Let's see....10 steamers and 16 big diesels(SD45 to 90's,a pair of AC4400's,a pair of DD40AX's).Only a few are decoder equipped so decoders are my priority now but I'd be interested in a Veranda and/or a turbine if I could find one at a fair price.

Interesting question. I "attempted" to take a "quick" inventory over the Christmas holidays.

Roughly 29 loco's, 1 Virginian trainmaster, 1 Erie GP7, 7 C&) Steam Engines, and 20 C&O Diesels. I am also counting A-B-A and A-A lashups as ONE engine. I have to get a couple of more Virginians since my layout has an interchange w/ the Virginian RR. As for the Erie, it is an ATLAS GP-7 that I purchased at a train show 12 years ago fully intending on stripping the paint and redoing it for the C&O. I have since fell in love w/ it and just lash it up w/ some C&O geeps. NOT that prototypical, but hey... I make the rules in my basement!

As for the rolling stock. Fuhhhgeetabout it! I "think" I have about 250 cars assembled, and about 200 kits I purchased thinking I would put them together on that "snowy day". I love buying kits. I have a "life time" of assembling boxed up in my basement.
