Does anyone know if the njc blue comet engine has ever been made in HO scale and if so, where can I find one?

The CNJ's G-3 Pacific (nor anything really even close to it) has never been done in plastic or diecast for HO. These engines were done in brass by OMI some years ago but are obviously very expensive. For a time years ago, Leetown offered parts that made it possible to convert certain HO plastic/zamac locos to reasonable representavtive of the G-3 but these are difficult to come by today. The biggest stumbling block is fabricating Wooten firebox and the notched cab the big G-3's had.

Bethahoover,
Welcome to the forum !
Scroll halfway down this earlier thread and you'll see a Brian K's recent project is or was converting a Rivarossi Pacific to a Blue Comet:

I can't speak to detail accuracy, but I can tell you that Rivarossi produced a plastic CNJ "Blue Comet" livery Pacific somewhere between 5 and 10 years ago.

They also produced a passenger car set in the right livery, but wrong car types (Blue Comet all coach).

If you're counting rivets, these probably won't do. If you just want to capture its spirit or have something reasonably close in the very distinctive (and handsome IMO) Blue Comet color scheme, you might want to look into them.

If you're interested, I can get you part numbers by the beginning of next week, as I have both the engine and car set packed away somewhere...
