Hi people im a newbie here from Autsralia was just wondering if there are any fellow aussies tagging around on here??
anyways im 21 and have had a model train set since i was about 6 and have slowly added to it over the years.. its nothing special... although the train set has been packed away for the most part of about 6 years now as i found an interest in my car which i am now gettin over... im thinking about ripping the train set back out and doing some major work on it so i joined this forum. and having experience with fibrgalss as a result of my work with the car i should now be able to do alot of my scenery layout using fibreglass and filler as the base... i dont know what most people use but ive drawn a few sketches and came up with a quite an easy way of doing it just using fibreglass...
anyways i hope i can learn a bit from this forum and get to know a few people along the way

Being old is when you didn't loose it, it's that you just can't remember where you put it.

Hello in Australia, from California- My wife and I spent a couple of weeks in Melbourne in October- she lived there for twenty years and loved it! I can see why- great county, and great railways (we rode the Puffing Billy- and I was treated to a tour of the engine shed there). I visited a large hobby shop in Melbourne and was rather disappointed in the selection of Australian prototype trains- there were more British prototype trains than anything else. I had hoped to purchase an HO gauge model of a Melbourne tram- any version- but none were available. I will try again next winter! And welcome to the Forum!

g'day all,
summer in australia at the moment well lets just say HOT lol... the other day reached 42 degrees celcius which is bloody hot... im not sure how much that is in farenheit or whatever u guys measure it in....

on the topic of the selection u found in melbourne, im from sydney and i havent been able to check out too many hobby shops but i must admit i havent been overly excited with the selection i have come across so far... i guess its not a temendously big hobby over here so its always going to be hard to get my hands on some things i would like to... for example my sole locomotive currently is a Santa Fe loco... i would prefer to stick to aussie locos and settings etc...and plan on making an extremely big layout with numerous locos taking control...

Yes there are other Australians on the forum.

I'm in Canberra, and I have both Australian and US models (and NZ and British and German....)

Welcome, Are you in Austria or Australia? I get them mixed up, they are so close together. plus 45C. ??? we are waiting for MINUS 40C.(Canada) it's only minus 18C. now. Let's see some photos of your early (bizarre?) Aussy steam locomotives, hope you preserved a few, and does anyone make specific Australian railway models, would love to see a complete setup of a layout.
