I thought the link icon use to work but that was about maybe two years ago. Now, I do it manually like some others here.
I suspect Kalmbach went with low bid programmer the last upgrade. They were taken advantage of. Not a very good upgrade. Spell check in some forums is another bother.

If you ever fall over in public, pick yourself up and say “sorry it’s been a while since I inhabited a body.” And just walk away.
I misread your first post, I get it now.
Thanks

Just like I said in My post...this is only used for making a prior thread clickable on cs.trains sites.....It does work copy & paste for all other links....at least for Me it does... It has been this way for 2 or three yrs. now on the MRR site. I don't even use the link icon for making any other links clickable...just copy/paste, press enter.
zstripe You must add ........................... <snip> Brackets[ ] url inside the brackets and brackets[/] url inside end of link. Frank
You must add ........................... <snip> Brackets[ ] url inside the brackets and brackets[/] url inside end of link.
Thanks Frank, I'm pretty sure some of my links were clickable in the past, without adding bracket and I've only been here since December. That link icon ought to add the brackets and the URL automatically.
Should does not equal does, thanks
The few links I use is the copied and paste method.
Since that link doesn't work, right click on the link for a drop down window and click "go to copied address".
Like this:
First [ url ]
then your link
then [ /url ]
Remove all spaces in the [] and between url and the brackets.
Frank, this makes my head hurt trying to out-think the MR confuser

Hi Henry,
In order to make a prior thread clickable on cs.trains.com sites..You must add ........................... to the address...just like it is here, brackets like shown before and brackets like shown after, in order for it to be clickable....other links most times they aren't needed.
That was not necessary on the old software sometime ago before they switched...this is a work around, that works! Brackets[ ] url inside the brackets and brackets[/] url inside end of link.
Hope that makes sense, it won't let Me type it out to show.

Read My Edit:
I occasionally have problems with the link button. One thing I've notice is that if I accidently Paste the link into the post without using the link button, and then go back and redo it with the link button, it usually doesn't work. Most other sites let you Paste the link, hilight it, and then click the link button to make it clickable, but not this site.

I was looking at another thread where I posted a link and it was not clickable. I went back in and edited it trying every possibility and in the preview it looks clickable but the final version is not. What am I doing wrong.
