I hadn't noticed his absence until it was mentioned here!  I have enjoyed conversations with Ulrich and I hope everything is alright!

Ken, They both ran before I sent them. Likely they got tossed around in shipping (I've seen them just toss a box with "fragile" written all over it onto the floor, not your box mind you). Maybe the rear truck came loose (does it move around a lot more than the front one) from the worm. I had a NIB P2K GP30 with sound that had that problem..

Jake, My brother went to Ohio state (to be with his girlfriend). I recall my father saying something about $40-60K just to go up there for 4 years. I went to my community college and because of my scholarship, I was under $400 a semester...

Wonder's what's happened to Ulrich? It's not like him to drop like this, is it?

anywhoo, I'm off for the night

Vincent

Wants: 1. high-quality, sound equipped, SD40-2s, C636s, C30-7s, and F-units in BN. As for ones that don't cost an arm and a leg, that's out of the question....

2. An end to the limited-production and other crap that makes models harder to get and more expensive.

Heartland Division CB&Q
Ken ..... I have not had a similar problem with my SD7's and SD9's by Proto 2000. ..... The early SD7's derailed sometimes, but that was fixed. One SD9 was my "floor model" meaning it fell to the floor. It was fixed mechanically, but one of the steps is not fully repaired and does not look right.

Vince's now the rear wheels seemed to be locked in places like they should be? Guess I will give it a try again after I get home Saturday.

 Evening

 Flo, Beer pleases

Well one mystery solved! Oh Vincent, what do you charge of a complete and properly working PK SD 9? Whistling I finally pulled the B&O SD 9 from the bench because of lack of pulling power. I could spin the rear wheels with my fingers?Laugh Well that explains why the Bachmann GP 30 could drag it down the line! Sometimes the wheels seemed to catch a little. So either there is a broken gear, slipping flywheel or a missing drive shaft?

Where did you get Shaky the GP 20 and Borkey the SD 9 from anyway? Not mad, just poking a little fun at you. Didn't I ask you to test run them a little while back before you sent them? Whistling

  Early day Saturday.

Evenin' folks!

Janie, just a cup of decaf for me tonight.

Sun finally showed up at 7PM tonight right before sunset....  However it is supposed to be clear tonight!  Whooopppie!  I did end up getting 8.93Kwhs of power off the roof which more than brought the total for March over 300 Kwhs.  Went down town today to buy some very pricy chocolate from a gourmet chocolate store we have called Whisper Chocolate.  Got five 5 oz bags of their "bark" to pass out to family on Easter.  $10 each...  Good though!  Store was packed as well.  They make all the chocolate confections right there and use German Chocolate and local fruit and nuts in it.

Drove back home and got caught up on a few things, and then had to drive across town for a Crew Committee meeting (Scouting Ventures Crew).  They are still struggling to get more members.  I gave them some more ideas on how to approach the recruitment of new members.    Managed to drive all over today on just the EV mode in the PiP (about 8 miles).  Got home and still had an estimate of 2.1 miles left on battery alone.  Gas millage this tank is now at 81 mpg.

Tonight I spent about an hour and a half in the train rooms doing some stuff...  Cut some more chipboard for the fill for the track going over the gorge sooner or later, and also weathered about 5' of track so it now is good and rusty.

Hope all of you have a great night!  Prayers for all in need, but especially that Ulrich is OK!

Good evening....

JohnBoy ..... I thought you would like that picture, and I am not surprised you aleady had your Scenic_Cruiser.

Everybody else who commented on the photo: Thanks.

We picked a very bad timne to take the granddaughters to a movie in Clarksville, TN. It's about 50 miles from here, and most of the driving is on Interstate 24. It took almost 3 hours to get to the movie. The freeway was blocked by a terrible multi-vehicle accident at the KY/TN state line. News report said the victims were out-of-state and children were involved. There were three deaths and some others were injured. I saw some of the pictures later and it was really bad. In particular, one photo was a bloody child seat laying on the pavement next to the badly wrecked vehicles.

The movie we saw later than planned was called "The Croods" and was good for the girls ages 9 and 11.

I, too, am very concerned about Ulrich. Recently I tried the email address I had for him, but evidently he changed email addresses because it is no longer vald.

Good evening.

Canopy is going on the P38J Lightning. When I get all of the detail parts on it, I'm going to set it aside and start on the Me 109. Will get the paint and decals on some other time.

Nothing to really report today other than that I applied for a scholarship through Penn Tech. Checked to see how much assistance I would get from the feds. Guess how much it was? ONLY $302 FOR THE FIRST SEMESTER! PENN TECH IS 5 GRAND PER SEMESTER, AND THAT'S ONLY COUNTING TUITION! I know, it's something, but it feels like a slap-in-the-face low amount. Jeez.................

Now for my SoapBox and off to bed. Night night.

I got a few things on the layout put away today and the GP7's, GP35 and the slug got a good run. The last couple of days I've been watching a lot of my Star Trek 'Enterprise' shows. I'm up to the last DVD on season two. Two more seasons to go. I've got them all as well as the all the movies, the original series and the animated series. I hope to someday be able to get the entire Star Trek 'Voyager' series. I don't care much for the Next Generation and DS9. Looks like we might get wet this weekend and the weather guesser is talking about rain all the coming week.

Time for me to call it a night. See y'all tomorrow.

Well,

I done did it.

I feel crushed.Crying

Now I feel empty.No

I packed up the trains. Sad

For the under-the-tree mini layout.

Had to.

MOH insisted, INSISTED, mind you, that if the HS diploma searched for was not IN the bookcase{it wasn't}, It HAD To be behind the bookcase. SO, in order to get to THAT area, we had to move the trains, the table it sits on and all the trappings around said table.

So, I HAD to pack up the trains.Confused

the diploma? NO it was NOT behind the bookcase, which I INSISTED all the time!

But, now, I don't have to listen to MOH complaining about the trains "taking up to much room in the living room" {remember, the table top is only 40 INCHES by 40 INCHEs, while the LR is 13.5 FEET by 16 FEET!!}

NOTE: WHO used the table top layout as a massive "dumping ground"????

NOTE: it was MOH who did so!!!

Now with the table exposed, MOH will pile IT high with stuff in no time I am sure. Positive.

Sigh

Now I cannot run trains. {GASP!}

MOH actually said, the other day, "maybe we should sell the trains"!!!!

ANd, here, all along, MOH Was INTO trains {or so I thought}. After all, MOH could runt he N scales on the table top layout that MOH so dearly loved..so WHAT? Of course, MOH wants EUROPEAN N scale to run, and NO SUCH animal here in the USA OR they are rather expensive!

Sigh

NOW..WHAT IS UP WITH ULRICH??? he NOw has ME worried. A few days in the hospital would be "normal" given his situation, BUt a longer stay? Or worse???? I have an extra candle lit for him anyway, hope it WORKS.

Crying

Sad

Evening guys

Well I tried my air eraser again. It worked, but kept jamming. So I decided to drill out the center hole a little bit. Well it didn't drill (carbide?), it came out of the tip. So I tried to hammer the end into a smaller tip. Well the JB-weld joint broke. At that point I pitched it. I'm going to try something I saw online.

Garry, Nice pic. I have a caboose like the one in the picture; except mine's Green.

Dennis, I personally think that orginization should be disbanded or at least reformed.

Evening All,

Just finished hot dogs for supper with fries (Nathan's of course) and now having my evening cup of coffee.

I feel like a slacker this week. Other than cleaning the house and grocery shopping I really have not done anything in the last 3 days.

I picked up a set of 5 Con Cor PRR FOM branch line cars (65') on the Bay yesterday. I have been looking for them for quite a while. The only reason I could afford them was our union at work finally settled with management for the contract and we got our back pay this week. Speaking of work, I should find out Monday who I am working with and what posts/days I work for May 5- Sept 8 (our very busy time).

Garry- Glad you had a good lucky day.

Barry- I have not had a Rhubarb pie for years. I used to love the tangy sweetness. My grandmother used to make them all the time.

I hope everyone has a good night and prayers for those in need.

Hello, performing some work on my work caboose today, it's quite far along for just one morning. But then again, it didn't need a whole lot of cutting and gluing. It was mainly just some altering of parts.

Mornin' everyone!

Zoe, I'll have a couple sour cream glazed doughnuts and a cup of Seneca Lake Blend Organic Dark Roast coffee to dunk them in please.

Barry has what outside?  That is because he sent the clouds over my way...  The weather guessers say it is party cloudy out there right now.  Right now I see lots of cloudy.  That's the part we have...  Barry has the other part I guess.

Even with the clouds out there, the solar panels should exceed 300 Kwhs for the month of March today.  As of this morning when I checked it is at 297 Kwhs.

Todd, ah.....  Nevermind.

Garry, looks like you got all kinds of buses in that scene, and a trolley too!  Nice.

Fergie, I love those Tichey kits!  Always get to use some of those words my Mom told me she was going to wash my mouth out with soap for using when i build them.  They come out awesome though!  What kits do you have with you?

Jake, I spent a lot of time in Elmira way back when (got my Masters degree at Elmira College) although i used to spend more time North of there in Horseheads.  We use to call Elmira the south end of Northbound Horse back then.... Whistling

Bill, how do you get the coffee to pour sideways like that?

Zoe, how about a refil on the dark roast?

Later!

Not even gonna guess what I’llI get involved in today after taking the Little Tykes cars over to the park this morn. I know I have to w**k tonight and Brenda is off today so…… It’s a real crapshoot.

Ok, my much anticipated Lucky Day results are in and they are as follows:

I lived……, gotta count for somethinAngel.

Bike front, while at Walmart looking at bikes, I found a pedal set and decided…it’s my lucky day so I’ll give it a shot. Worst happens I’m back here to buy bike. Went home and, totally unheard of for me, this bike was one of the “fits most bikes”, AND, get this, the internal; threads weren’t boogered to need a tap. The count is now twoYes.

Lottery, well spent five hard earned dollars in this frivolous fashion. Two $1 scratch-n-sniffs worth…..nada. $1 quick pick for Lucky Day Lotto worth….$10Yes Big Smile. Couldn’t believe that one. So, I figure worst case on the lottery front, I’ve doubled my money even if the Mega Millions for which I bought $2 worth of quick picks for tonights drawing, comes in a bust.

Now for me…..that is a very lucky day.Left Hug can I get a hug..Right Hug Thank you.

Ya’ll have a good day, ya hear!!!!
