An alternative is Aero-Locomotive Works Conducta Lube. It's definitely plastic safe. Blackstone recommends using it on their HOn3 locos.

I believe that it is made by Aristo-Craft. If you look them up, they have an address that is in Irvington, NJ, as printed on the bottle shown in the article.

Jim used the stuff on a metal to metal kingpin joint, so used in moderation it is probably okay. But I would keep it off everything else. I think I would use plastic compatible Labelle grease and oil as appropriate on everything else.
Jim's diesel tune up article talks about using Aristo-Electralube #29602 on the king pins during reassembly. I was doing a search to find out where to buy it (couldn't find a source yet) and ran into a piece about this product not being plastic compatible. So does anyone know where to buy this product and should I keep trying to find it. Jim wouldn't suggest it I wouldn't think if there was a problem with it. Who sells it in the 2oz bottles. Doug
