United States Attorney General Sues UP over Use of Flag emblem
Posted by Anonymous on Monday, June 14, 2004 9:31 AM
With the federal budget running hundreds of billions of dollars in deficit the Attorney Generals office of the United States announced today the Federal government would file suit against the Union Pacific for infringement on the use of the national symbol.

The Secretary of States office was quoted as saying the move was necessary as there was already a perception that some politicians in his party were owned by the Union Pacific, and "besides we have enough bad will with countries in the Middle East and Europe, do we really need to tick off the model railroaders too"? Some sources claim the move would ease the national deficit by tapping into the huge reservoir of model railroad licensing fees.

The President refused to comment on the issue and referred questions to the Bush/Cheney 2004 committee who said they were tracking the reponse of the model railroad vote and its effect on swing states.[8]

Yeah, but just think about how much effect the model railroad vote could have if it were serious. After all, there's a lot of us out there.

hey TA462 - we all had a good laugh over this, and perhaps it will take some of the edge off of the UP topic for a bit, so everyone can calm down, regroup and plan how they'll inform the model manufacturers that they'd better play fair, or they'll be the one that will suffer a loss of business. . .Suggest that you don't just bop onto this Forum with but 20 posts to your credit and start slinging mud with your comment. It wasn't quite a flame job, but it could have started another mindless rant back and forth.
