With the federal budget running hundreds of billions of dollars in deficit the Attorney Generals office of the United States announced today the Federal government would file suit against the Union Pacific for infringement on the use of the national symbol. <br /> <br />The Secretary of States office was quoted as saying the move was necessary as there was already a perception that some politicians in his party were owned by the Union Pacific, and "besides we have enough bad will with countries in the Middle East and Europe, do we really need to tick off the model railroaders too"? Some sources claim the move would ease the national deficit by tapping into the huge reservoir of model railroad licensing fees. <br /> <br />The President refused to comment on the issue and referred questions to the Bush/Cheney 2004 committee who said they were tracking the reponse of the model railroad vote and its effect on swing states.[8]
