(topic orig posted on "Prototype Information for the modeler" forum, but didn't receive any replys, so I am re-posting it here since it is more a model and not prototype topic) Has anyone had a favorable experience with this model--will it pull a trailer up a grade, how is its slow speed operating characteristics, its' top speed, is it noisy, etc? Thanks for any feedback.

Bill, I have a Walthers doodlebug done in N.P. livery. I am happy with how mine operates. It certainly will depend on the steepness of the grade as far as pulling a trailer car will be concerned. However, the model uses only one power truck so traction will be limited. The model has very good slow speed characteristics and I would guess scale like top speeds. It seems slow, when compaired to others however, I think most locos have to much top end. The model is quiet at all speeds. I have converted mine to DCC operation and still don't have it all sorted out as it tends to derail easily. This is due to the extra wiring going from motor to decoder. The detailing is very good, however, somewhat fragile. I like mine very much and can recommend.
