I love 'em all !!!

Rich

ps: I don't think the UP gives a @#$@ whether anyone likes them or not; unless you are either a potential customer or potential stock holder!

You people shouldn't be discriminating against the railroads, what did they do to you?[;)](jk)[:D]

I too love them all!!!!! There's no train from any road that I don't like!

However, I do hold a very big grudge against Metra for the scrapping of Richard Jensen's GTW 4-6-2 5629! Even though the incident occurred back in 1988 when I was 2 years old, it still angers me to hear about how it happened. While I'm sure that they have new management by now, I still haven't quite forgiven them.

I HATE BNSF!! cant stand the ugly orange. And LOVE U.P. i hope they Merge with more RR, and end up having more and more locomotives and rolling stock in U.P. colors, they need to paint those old beat up Grande and S.P. and CNW engines already.

seems to me that this question really can't be answered with any degree of accuracy... if there really is a LEAST favourite railroad - how would you know??? [%-)] being the least favourite, it wouldn't even register on the chart [:P][;)][:D][:D]. If it's a train, I like it; so if this discussion is really about the railroads we love to hate, then, I have no clue or guesses. they're all good, carry on...[C):-)][oX)][^]

cheers, krump

Current: Norfolk Southern
Historic: Southern Railway

I have and always will be a yankee at heart. So, while Southern had one of the most beautiful paint jobs of all time (the green and white passenger) and they ran my favorite locomotive of all time (the DL109) I still can't shake a sneaking and underlying hatred of the Southern. Maybe that's why I model Toronto

Believe it or not, I'm starting to get used to NS. In fact, I'm starting to LIKE them. Love the logo, the high hoods, to CR patches, and other things. I still like Conrail more though.

reading all posts over again, I think that I don't dislike any us railroads

What I love in the us rail transportation system is all the different companies,
YOU can choose, all those multi colored locomotives and rolling stock mixed together, compare that to the european system, each country has its own railroad company owned by the state almost no room for private railroads, all engines have the same colour ( in holland it is yellow now, it was green: like cucumbers on wheels), all freight cars look alike, they are BROWN, the cucumber is digested . . . . . . IT IS DULL
be proud of you multi-colored railroad system, it is much more diverse and much more fun to model!

Conrail. I just don't like the paint scheme, no other reason.

What are you crazy![:(!][:0] I may be a hard core UP fan, but the old SP, Cotton Belt, Rio Grande, MoPAC, and CNW locos should stay in their original paint schemes. If they were all Armor Yellow, we'd have no variety!!!!!!!

The only railroad I hate is the modern Union Pacific, and not even the whole road. Just the a**holes started this surcharge for modelers thing.

But all through history, my least favorite is CP or CN. The paint schemes on their diesels are kinda lame, and I dislike their steam locomotive designs.

--C-S-X---

Read my motto in my signature block. I loved the B&O growing up in the 70s. One day while rail fanning Baltimore (I was 12 or so), I came across a Western Maryland SD-40 in circus scheme. I had no idea what, where, or who the Western Maryland was. Lots of research and discovery later, the ‘Wild Mary’ was right up there in my heart with the B&O. Then one day, I saw this ungodly bright locomotive with a huge cat on the front. How could this railroad absorb my B&O and my WM? My animosity didn't last too long as I realized Chessie kept the predecessor initials on all equipment -AND- they weren't so quick to repaint everything. I really love the multicolor consists that I would see through the late 70s and early 80s. Heck! Even GP9s and 7s lasted into the 80s in the B&O Roman Gothic lettering scheme. Then came the dismal gray giant that painted everything a stealth color and completely erased any processor's history of a piece of equipment. That is why I model 1973-1983 and why I dislike CSX soooooooooooo much!!!!

Modular railroading at its best!
If it has an X in it, it sucks! And yes, I just had my modeler's license renewed last week!

I don't have any "worst" railroads...I think all trains are pretty cool..I don't like the UP surcharge because if anything, modelers are advertising for the.... the only ones i dislike are freelance railroads...i've seen some pretty bizarre and outrageous stuff on a freelance railroad but they are trains and they still catch my eye..i don't like them to the point of hating them....Chuck

So after the weekend's little flamefest and meltdown, folks still seem to want to do the "I hate (insert here)........what gives? Trains are cool, regardless of owner.

I don't think I upset anyone too much by saying that the C. & F.W. was poorly run. I mean Green Acres was a pretty good show, but as I remember the Hooterville Cannonball was NEVER on time.

I hate ATSF and UP. Seems these are the only railroads that get models modeled after them. And a pox on the man that hates the B&O.

This is a little off topic ,but now that the CSXT is now going to start charging extra for model trains no thanks to the Utterly Pethic. [V]Who's next.
