Display Cases

Does anyone know of a company that sells or manufactures wooden model train display cases that are 4'-5' long with several shelves with sliding or hinged glass or acrylic doors. I am looking good reliable company not one of these fly-by-night internet jobs who won't answer phone calls or e-mails
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

Greg: check your local phone book or local paper and see if there is someone in your area that does woodworking or cabinet making, you can go and see them, explain what you would like and they could give you an estimate and if the price is within your wishing to spend you can maybe follow its building, make any changes as it goes along, and be happy with the end result. I have known a couple of people that are in not only railroading but other hobbies that have had display cases made for them, and are very happy with the results. God luck. I'm actually looking myself. My wife's grandfather has two nice oak displays that are about 5' long, and about 3' high (enough for 5 rows of trains!) with nice sliding glass. He picked them up at a show, but I'm sure other people make them.

I was planning on talking to a wood worker, but if you find somebody that is willing to ship, please share.

I came across a case mfr at the trains show in DeLand, FL on 7/28. They offer a a number of styles of single-track display case, but they might do some custom work for you and if not, they might direct you to someone that will. I found the best display case company, TracksideDisplays.com. I purchased a 60"X 18" with dark oak stain and sliding acrylic stain for $129.00 and that includes UPS shipping within 4-5 days.

TracksideDisplays looks like a great find for the price. Has anyone attempted to build one of these on their own using glass or acrylic windows? If so I would be interested in a good set of plans.

I seen some nice ones at the flea market in middletown ohio. I will get their website this weekend. These cases are available in various heights and widths and also custom built.
The best feature is the mirror backing, great for 3 dimensional look. Alot of nascar fans buy these due do the aestectics of colors next to mirror backing. see ya, mark d.
