In the process of installing a decoder on an Atlas S-2, I inadvertanly lost the driveshaft to one side of the drive. It's a tiny barbell looking thing that fits between the flywheel and the gear tower to form a universal joint. There's two of them. One for each flywheel.
Now the good part. And I can't say this will happen to everyone.
The fellow at Atlas found one in their parts department. Evidently it's an older model, 20-25 years old according to the parts guy. Rather than charge me the 30 cents for the part and $6.00 shipping, he said he would drop it in an envelope and mail it to me...NO CHARGE!!!!!
Is that customer service or what?????

Living the dream.
It's not only great customer service, it is typical Atlas. I cannot say enough good things about those guys over the years.

I agree, Rich: anytime I've contacted Atlas, their response has always been prompt and polite, and always helpful - a class act for sure!
