NCE switch 8 problem
Posted by Blind Bruce on Friday, September 17, 2010 11:33 AM

I have had my switch 8 for a couple of years controlling 5 tortoises. This morning, one and two work normally but 3, 4, & 5 are innoperative. Wires seem intact. Where do I start? I am using NCE pro cab to control the Sw8.

Mine had a problem where they lost their programming sometimes when there was a short.

Try re-programming the outputs like when you first set it up.  Install the jumper, dial up the output on the rotary and address a switch.

I finally fixed mine by installing an auxiliary DCC booster and ran a separate bus to the switch-8's.,

Motley take note. Wink

I don't use a Switch-8 but have had occasional problems with a Switch-It, which can control 2 tortoise motors, losing its address and having to be re-programmed after a power glitch.

I thought they would have the same issue but never used the 1 switch it on my shelf.
