Conrail92,

Send in however many decoders you like 1,2,3 and $10.00 for each decoder and $2.00 S&H with a check / MO (No CASH) and a note with your return address and you will get the replacement decoders. 2 decoders $22.00 and that's it. I have done it sending in several AD370 MRC'S and recceived NCE D13SRJ's. By the way D13SR decoders are a 4 function decoder not 2 function like many of the $12-15. decoders are.

I sent back a fried Bachmann decoder and got a brand new one for $12. If you purchase any more decoders at this time, they don't charge you additional shipping. (but your paying MSRP for the decoder)
They accept checks/money orders. Turn around time was less than a week. I have a fried MRC AD 350 I'm getting ready to "trade in". I wonder which decoder they will replace it with?
They never returned any of my E mails either. I had to call them. (which was still difficult to get through)

Thanks, I planed on Money Order if it was accepted. Seems to be the safest route... Thanks for the information!

You can send a M.O. or check or cash (not recomended). You will get a NEW equivalent decoder. I sent them a couple of fried Atlas Silver decoders and a M.O. for $20 and got 2 equivalent decoders a week later, (I think the Atlas ones would've cost $30 each to replace from Atlas). They dropped right in the Atlas locos and have worked perfectly.

...and sure they want you to try out their product, it's still a good deal if the math works out and they are good products, I've got 20+ and have yet to burn one up.

The decoder I'm sending in currently is worth about $26 the replacement deal through NCE would be a total of $12.84 that includes shipping and postage...

When you can purchase an NCE or practically any other brand of decoder outright for a price of $15-$20 from places such as Litchfield Station without needing to send in an old one and paying postage both ways, do you really think this is a bargain?

TCS will replace any of their decoders free, with no questions asked on how it got damaged.

I use NCE and TCS decoders extensively, and have rarely had a need to replace one.  NCE's replacement offer may have been a bargain several years ago when decoders were still expensive, but not today.  I think their offer is just an attempt to get people to try NCE decoders instead of using other brands.

NCE Decoder Replacement Question

I found out awhile ago that if you mail NCE a damaged decoder of any brand with $10 plus S&H they will send a equivlent decoder of there brand as replacement. What payment methods do they accept? I emailed them a week ago with no response. Also for thoose who did this, do they send you a low end refurbished one, or a new one?

Either way this seems like a nice deal...
