I am looking for help gather any information about railroading delaware and chester counties in pa. I am aware of CSX, NS, and a few shortlines but would like as much information as possible to begin the design process for my layout.

Try Keystone crossings web page. It is all about the PRR which was the 500 pound gorilla in that area.

Engine25,
If you've already researched at your local public library and the historical societies for Delaware and Chester counties, one possible source is the historical USGS quadrangle maps viewable online at
Maptech
:
http://historical.maptech.com/index.cfm
Another possible source, of which I was reminded by a recent posting, is
Arcadia Publishing's
softbound
Images of Rail
and
Images of America
series. Here's the link to

Do a
Search By Series
.
Hope this helps.
