Hello, Crew! I was recently asked what the "Talmage System" was on steam locos, particularly on an Erie 0-8-8-0. I do know the Talmage Manufacturing Co. of Cleveland made fittings such as blow off valve, low water alarms, hand brakes, ashpans, etc. according to the June 1928 issue of Railway Age. Does anyone have an idea of what the "Talmage System" could have been?
Thanks!
Russ

Thanks, Overmod, that's it! I knew that Talmage made an "ashpan cleaning system", but this explains it all.
