Thank you.

If everything seems under control, you're not going fast enough!

Thanks!
I recall posting this link from a discussion of tank cars from a few years ago:
http://utlx.com/pdf/TankCarHistory.pdf
Scroll to page 31 for a view of the "pregnant whale" tank car.

Thank you!
Goggle any of them and you will find lots of information.
Thanks! Also where could I find interpretations of the letters on railcars like ECUX, GATX, UTLX, TTX?
cascadenorthernrr Hi, I've seen an HO scale jumbo tank car on eBay and I was wondering what the prototype for it is?

The prototype builder could be General American Tank Car (GATX) or Union Tank Car (UTLX).
I'm not sure if Trinty made jumbo tank cars.

Thank you. Could we possibly get back to the jumbo tank cars?
He posted on these Forums as recently as last December.

Rule 1: This is my railroad.
Rule 2: I make the rules.
Rule 3: Illuminating discussion of prototype history, equipment and operating practices is always welcome, but in the event of visitor-perceived anacronisms, detail descrepancies or operating errors, consult RULE 1!
I haven't seen Bobby (tankcarsrule) around in a while. Not on other forums either. I hope eveything is ok. His work is the best.
Mike.
Are they HO?
Where is Bobby P when you need him he has some great scratch built jumbo tank cars.

Go to the link in the post above, go to page 2 and click on UTLX 83699 and GATX 96500 those are the two I'm speaking of there are pictures on those pages! Now I'm looking for models of them?
Since you provide no specifics or picture, wouldn't the seller list any of that information in the title description of the item? You could then use that and Google to glean the information you desire. I'm sure there's got to be a Wiki page for that specific tank car somewhere on the internet...

Time...It marches on...without ever turning around to see if anyone is even keeping in step.
Back in the lat 60's At;as did the 8 axle 96 foot tank cars in N scale. I have all 4 of them Intereting cars. The trucks wee 2 per end on span bolster..
All sorts - even ones no one's made models of, or if they did, only in brass.
