Does anyone have any suggestions for modeling HO girder rail to use on a street crossing (non-traction)?
I had seen an article where the modeler had placed the head of a rail nested into the web of the running rail and soldered the two together. This would be fine for straight track, I suppose a curve would have to be formed first then soldered if you need a curved piece.
Then, there is this:

Proto 87 makes girder rail sections and transition joiners. They are designed for traction, but work with standard HO engines and rolling stock as well.
I built part of my carfloat terminal with this.
It takes an iron man to play with a toy iron horse.
Thanks for the suggestions. I've seen that web site before. Unfortunately I've already laid the track and I don't want to rip it out just for a short section of girder rail. I think what I'll try is a piece of Code 70 rail laid on its side up against the Code 83 already in place. Either that or just forget about it!
