Spiffy.  Did the Cat get beamed in or drive over the bridge?

Run the wires straight down and then under the bridge decking to one end and thence to the woodwork. Paint the wires the same color as the rest of the underside. Call em utility service.

The T1 leds from radio shack have metal leads out the back of them. How do I insulate those, was thinking of using the signal pole for one lead and then only have one wire down the signal mast. What I really need are leads with insulated wires, then would be a piece of cake. My signal slips into the mounting block at the bottom, would be an easy fix....Thanks...John

That's coming along nicely, John.  I can take it that you are placing those signals as per the real thing?  I guess I agree with the idea that running them tightly up under the ties, held up with tiny bits of caulking or putty every inch or so in order to remove them readily if necessary would do the trick.

This may be a problem, as the loader operator was the ex-dispacher, his job was outsourced and his payrol check was downsized to 1:87....John

I dont know how to answer that.

Im already having nightmares and demonstrating need for Versed after attempting to understand simple dwarf signalling wiring.

Selector..Thank you....I have been years getting to this goal of my layout, is only my third scene. There is a member here that details his scenes in layers, ones eye keeps looking into the depth of each diorama. This will be what I will later try to attempt. Trying to catch up to a friend who has some UP engines I want to shoot today, If I do I will post them. I really enjoy this forum as you guyes really give me ideas and great information. Trying to get this fiesco of a layout ready for a NMRA tour in Oct.

On my last layout I used transformer coil wire to wire signals. Thee wires can easily be threaded inside the mast and the mast is used for the ground.

The wire has insulating enamel covering and will not short across which is why it is used to wind electro magnetic coils.

I don't know where it can be purchased (RS maybe) but I stripped mine from a defunct twin coil switch machine.

It can be glued on the underside of bridge work with contact cement.

John - I just finished making several signal stands like
yours.  I used 3/32 brass tube and like you mentioned I soldered
one lead of the LEDs to the mast and soldered a wire to the base.
I hand drilled a hole in the tube and using 30 g decoder wire was able
to easily pass two leads  down the inside of the tube which were
connected to the other leg of the two LEDs.  MRR has an archived
article on exactly what you need to know.  I will look it up and
get back to you.  It was a big help for me.

John check out this online article it may help.  Sorry I don't
know how to hot link it.  Go to the MRR mag icon at the top of
this page/articles/Controls and Electical/Build your own signals.
