PS what is a GG?
Still the same engine as posted earlier in this thread!
This is the beauty of bending your own rail, i can have any curve i like, i do have an R5 but i also have an R2.5 as well as R4. in different places, you can also have any length you want down to the last millimetre.

Have fun with your trains

I know the LGB version has sound and MTS and the USA has QSI sound and dcc. So engine is easier to operate? Which is the smoother running engine? Which has a better sound system? Thanks guys
Hi guys,
The thought of a gg-1 has crossed my mind several times, but the price has kept me from buying one. Hello David,
Does scale matter????
The USA GG-1 measures 32.5" (825.5mm) and is listed as 1:29 scale
The LGB GG-1 measures 28.75" (730mm), no scale listed. (Scale for the length is 1:33.2)
The proto measures 79.5ft (24232mm) which in 1:29 scales out to 835.6mm.
USAT length error: 1.2% too short
LGB length error: 14.5% too short
Many (most?) of the "G" scalers who run standard gauge items consider 1:29 to be the de facto "standard".
Hope that helps.

Jonny,
You know I have to investigate all the options on the market. And by the way, I do have R5 curves. Obviously I am leaning to the LGB, but I have to look at everybody.
Come on Johnny!
Do you have R5 curves? If not you might want to consider one that will negotiate tighter radius curves.
Whats a GG?
Can you elaborate? Why did you like the USA over the LGB model?
Thanks
