Sorry... all I got is a POS European profile dismal shell.

GP7/9, GP35, Dash-9 and U25 are the only ones on that list I can think of in LS that might be around today. Theres simply just a whole lot of stuff thats never been made in LS.

Maybe I am missing something as I am not an expert on American Manufacturers... But, to my eyes the majority of the locomotives you have requested do fall into the classic American types and thus should be pretty easy to build from scratch?

The locomotive that I am building at the moment (and to be honest ALL of my locomotives) are scratch built. Maybe it is something to do with my Colonial Upbringing, but I find far more enjoyment swearing at a piece of plastic that WILL NOT go where it supposed to -than opening a box.

Have a think about it. Cut up a few cereal boxes and tape the bits together. Look at it. Decide what is / is not "do-able"... Pick up a sheet of ABS and then "crack snap" your parts.

You will never regret it!

The single best source I know of for loco blueprints is the Model Railroader Locomotive Encyclopedia Vol 2 on diesels, prettymuch anything and everything the scratchbuilder should need plans wise.

I use 80 thou ABS sheet for structural parts whilst I use 60 thou for main side panels. My normal method is to "plate" the ABS onto thin ply or balsawood for added rigidity.

This my "Home Page" please examine the section marked "Kitchen Sink Engineering". Have a look around the rest of the models there to get some idea how to go about scratch building. I never started out to build a site devoted to scratchbuilding -but it seems to gone that way(?)

I may have to check that out for my pipe dream 1:20.3 Dash 9.

Is volume 1 steam by chance?

Yes it is, very little narrow gauge, only 3 geared locos (one of each)

1/20.3 dash 9 narrow gauge (meter gauge) does exist in Brazil using 2 four axle coupled bogies front and rear like a U50, looks cool but I shudder to think of its size in 1/20.3. John Wagners awesome U50 on Mylargescale was HUGE, I saw it at the MLS booth at the Queen Mary show, and that thing was enormous.

That is cool! And is what I need. Where can I buy the Vol 2 for myself and anything else you think I might need and not want (really need).

Here is what I have been working on, Enjoy:
