FYI, they are referring to the grade crossing ones, not on the engines. The newer grade crossing bells are electronic, instead of a real bell.
Yes mate your right it is doppler affect i was thinking of. Coriolis i think i something else al together different to do with the rotation of the Earthg maybe.
But wouldn't it be nice to have on your crossing bells?
A number of my locomotives have crossing bell sounds and i can trip them off approaching a crosing but alas i do not have a crossing!
Is it the Coriolis affect that you get where the sound a bell makes is different approaching it as opposed to departing from it?
