I use Vallejo paints for miniature figures. It is a water based acrylic that is also good for airbrushing. If you intend to put it on something that will run outside you will need to find a good laquer based clear coat that plays well with acrylics.

Hi Guys,
Has anyone here used vallejo paints? This paint can be brushed on or sprayed, dosent leave any brush marks according to some of the posts I read on the train tools forum. Would like to know the type of results you got with it.
I am looking for something that would make a good repro of Russian Iron for engine boilers. Vellejo has several metalic colors that might work. See link below
