Kim! Welcome back! I was wondering what had happened to you. Glad to hear that the cabforward project has progressed during your absence.[:D]

Hi Vic,
That's an interesting picture you have there, not atram to ride when you're pissed!
Hi Troy,
Sent Sandy an e-mail, he's an Aristo dealer so we'll see where it goes.
Hi Ian,
Know what you mean. This is the place where we look at your brand new blue crocodile and then at the saw!! Hee Hee!
Weekend is upon us and now I've got something to spur me on a few hours in the shed looks good tomorrow, before the beer that is! Catch you later.
Cheers,
Kim

Kim mate;

I don't think much of this section; as i'm not into kit bashing but some of the comments sound quite interesting. I think I might get into gardening or layout design for a while.

Kim,
The London one has been on hold for about a month.I was worried about the length of it and the platforms. It just didn't 'look' right.(or left.Where's Tufty the road crossing squirrel when you need him)
Anyway, when my Dad came down I let him look over it and he came up with same thing without me mentioning it.I now have to cut the thing into 3 parts and put it back together.Deep joy.
I have the motor block left over from the whimsey build.I'm going to build a very old double deck open topper with it.Just need to find the right tram to model.
The main problem with a basic 4 wheel pickup is ----well,the 4 wheel pickup!
I prefer to use pickups on the trailing bogies or another motor to pull-push.It gets expensive with 2 motors but if it runs all day without mishap then it's worth it.
I did mean to ask before.Does your Scottish supplier chappie deal with the smaller Aristocraft motorised bogies (No ART 29356).They are like gold dust over here at the mo.
Good to have you back.I completely understand you staying in this section.I've been there once before if you remember.
Regards,Troy

Cheers guys,
I'm staying in this particular section this time round and leaving 'General Discussion' to the Generals and experts!! I really do need a 'reason to do' and when I binned this a while ago I found that I was spending less and less time in the shed tinkering and hammering. Quite a bit has been going on, had a visit to Scotland for a few days and met up with Sandy of Scottish Garden Railways in Stirling and spent a few hundred quid - a real gent, in fact just ordered some Massoth coach lighting units off him. The NW2 I bought was local and second hand -like new- with an LGB sound unit fitted, £200 and a steal. The cab forward has had a quick paint job to boiler and tender, fitted rivet detail to the tender and made a right bollocks of it so I'll have to put new sides on. Had a good summer running trains but now it's time for the extension and that will be starting soon, weather permiting. Got a new camera to play with so I'll snap some of the things I've been doing.
John, Brian, T-Jack, keep those wheels turning.
Troy, how's the tram scene coming along, did the London one work out? Had an e-mail from down under and looks like we are working on a one in/one out forum. [;)]
Cheers,
Kim

Hi guys,
I'm back with you again. Apologies for my absence but I had to get out from under for a while and my scratch building has fallen behind with no driving force. Anyway, the cab forward has now had a coat of paint and some detailing, new track has been purchased to do the extension and another NW2 with LGB sound has been added to the fleet, the weather is crap and I'm still having to work for a living. Apart from that life goes on.
Speak to you soon.
Cheers,
Kim
