No engine reviews in GR this month

Right on!

I do some reviews for a German GRR mag. I order the stuff from various dealers or pick it up at the hobby shop. And I pay full price or whatever I can haggle for, but the word "product review" is never mentioned.
Chances are pretty good that I get a "run of the mill" sample, no better or worse than the next guy's. The possibility of getting a "select" product are nil!

Of course the draw back is: I only review certain items i.e. what fits on my layout or what can easily be modified to fit.

Plus, try to buy one of each of the GG1's.........hope somebody has a big bank account....
I have deals with those I write reviews for.
I want factory sealed boxes, and if I ever find they have doctored one prior to shipment, you will definitely hear about it, in print.
I recall a specific model...by a specific manufacturer....displayed at a railroad and made available for review purposes.....and got glowing reviews.

However, most of the production units would stop at the first curve, as the motors did not have the power to overcome the extra drag of the flanges on the curve, and folks who wanted to run tham had to re-motor them.


So, buy them if you want to.
When I need one for review, I'll just have you buy it for me.

I thought I would clear up this misconception. We at GR invite every major manufacturer to send us product. Before each issue's deadlines, Marc Horovitz will email the manufacturers, asking them to send products for review. We will also frequently call manufacturers with the same plea.

It would be impractical (and nearly impossible) for us to purchase every new product to review in the magazine.

As a side note, there WILL be a locomotive in the December issue.

It isn't bias.
It's trying to get Chuckie to cough up something to review.
I do know of one reviewer who is attemping to get that changed.

I guess they wait unitl close to Christmas to review all the new power sources, but aren't there any new engines around this time?
