Hey everyone,
Thanks for all the kind words. My son and I had a great time with the layout. Many people commented that they had never seen model trains like that before. A few kids were crying when their parents were ready to leave. One threw quite a tantrun too! I told his parents I will be back next year. Yes...I am pretty much committed to setting this up from now on. Feels great to do it too. The location for this year was just ideal to lay track on too. Would you believe wherever the shrubs were in the way I was told to just trim them back! Made my life easy. I would encourage anyone considering doing something like this at their church or some other place to go for it. Yes it is a lot of work for a short time but so very worth the effort! Later eh...Brian.

If you have a picture that has non-alpha or non-numeric characters in it, you have to be careful about using them in URLs. You can still have apostrophes, spaces, question marks and the like represented, but what you need to do is convert them to their hexadecimal ASCII representation. (Keep reading--it's easy.)

There are two ways to do this:
1. Find a chart (such as the one at: http://www.pcguide.com/res/tablesASCII-c.html) and look up the character you want and it's hexadecimal value (it's marked). Don't worry about the ones with values below "space" as they're not used for text.
2. If you are presented with a file list (such as the one at http://www.puckdroppers.us/pictures) you can simply open the image, and copy & paste the URL where you want it.

If anyone's curious as to why you have to do this, please feel free to email me at puckdropper@fastmail.fm and I'll explain. I don't want to post something fairly technical that no one's interested in.

It looks like you got it figured out.

Yea, MLS let's you link to your pictures anywhere. Just be careful of apostrophes, spaces and other odd characters (like brats?). I usually name files something like: "FathersDay001.jpg" or just "100_1085,jpg" like it came from the camera.

O.k. Capt you were close, apparently you can't use an apostraphy in the address.

Also I didn't look before i posted this to see if Bman had posted on the subject yet sorry for the duplicate thread.

Matt, I am one ahead of you at the MLS site...I think it is because you have empty spaces inbetween your words. It makes some type of percentage thing...

Try up loading with without spaces...

Apparently MLS won't let me post an uploaded photo unless it's posted there?

They are uploaded and viewable from my web space and I copied the links address directly. TOC, Torb Or Vic Please advise.

So.....does that mean, since there are no photos, that the edit was to clean out the files?

Hey everyone,
Been very busy here. Father's Day was again a success for us here. We set up our annual display at out church. No room for parking the semi trailer this year but we were blessed with an awesome garden area to set up in. My son David and I arrived at 6:00 AM Sunday morning and by 8:00 the first train was running. This year my Shay saw duty hauling logs once again, and a Canadian National Pacific handled the freight. Two loops of track along with a few small scenes rounded out the garden area very nicely. Many people were once again exposed to our great hobby keeping Naomi and I answering endless questions. The weather was perfect even though at about 8:00 AM a nasty storm missed us by about a mile or so. After that it was sunshine and train time. We ran until 2:30 that day and packed it all up a short time later. Not sure where we will set up next year so we will have to wait and see. I unfortuneately cannot post any pics so I sent some to Carpenter Matt. Hopefully he will have time to post them here for me. Hope all you Dads out there had an awesome Father's Day too! Later eh...Brian.
