Delta Northern Ver10

Well it had to happen sooner or never. So I picked sooner, V 10 will be above ground ( 3ft ). with planting areas, a false mountin for a back drop and maybe one tunnel ( 2 track ) that should eliminate some track cleaning ...........thats all for now................

Pictures will be coming soon, working on a project with my son first. Some before pictures will be posted this weekend. We plan to add a water feture with a closed system, that plan will use a 5 gal bucket for capture and recerulation, hopefully that will be enought water for the system. I do have two larger storage tubs that i could reinforce to use for water storage. we have had some case's of West Nile in the area so I need to eliminate any standing water. I plan on using most of my original track plan minus the two 45' passing sideings . I am planing on adding a 5 or 6.5 ft diamiter loop for a street car that will be the last thing i do.

After digging up 200+ bricks i still have about 70 ft to go. All of the bricks have become pavers for the last part of are backyard that needed work 8x10 area in front of one of my train sheads. and i will have some leftovers to use as feet for the new RR, I added a mason's line to use as a guide for how high it will be . Looking at it my RR looks like it climes 18 inchs from one side of the yard to the other....

thats all for now

UPDATE: 37ft or so left to dig up, all of the 4 track and the station areas are done just some minor backfilling to do. Didn't get much done, due to inhaleing to much rock dust. better now. wetting down rock ( ballist ) work areas the night before helps . The more I look at at what i have to work with the more my plans change. I am thinking of trading space's with the CFO, Me taking most of the area that is already rocked over ( was a weed pit ) and giving up the most of new section and just puting in a singel track there.

all for now.

UPDATE: As of 11 am on 31 aug 2012 the last bit of track and roadbead were removed Ver 9 is history.

Today is when I will start building the new ( V10 ) rr. I did not start last week as I had pressing priorty's. AKA finnish useing up brick from roadbed and long weekend out of town. So Ver 10 construction begins today in about 1 hour or so. I do plan on pictures as i go..............

Update: Today I should have the framing done for two of three sides. it's been rought working with warped 2x6's that were true and dry when I purchesed them. And doing a better job of perp work would have helped. it seem's as though whenever I start work I have to do somthing else that kills the cool mornings. and leaves the hot ( sunny ) afternoons, Things should go faster now that first section is complete and level end to end, front to back. I did lose 25% of the front to back because of leg placement. Picture's on sunday maybe..........

Picture's:

1. Section one

2: What I did with 280 or so concreate blocks from subroadbed

3.Temporay building storage ( may become winter storage )

4. Work area and wood storage.

As you can see my space is limited. The wood will be stored on top of section one, with the containers under.

Before i had section 2 done I went to VER10.1 of the track plan, and changed section 1 it's now  24" to 32" and back to 24" deep I added more room for the station and a stub track for eng serviceing. And section 2 is now 16' instead for 24' deep. Picture's latter in the week. Also wood storage has been moved to section 2. The start of section2 can be seen in picture #4 above.
