Our last lab, Zody, may he rest in piece, was in fact a seeing eye dog, but he went blind himself and spent his last years with "seeing eye humans". Strange irony to life, even for a dog.....

New dumb thing I did: Using the main line as a test track with a 46unit train on it, after I thought I turned off the power to section the engines were on. This time it only caused a uncoupling of one car.
Lucky Me
Been there a few times myself. My worst case occurred during final trial runs five hours before my daughters wedding. The reception was in the back yard, and trains were required to run. I manhandled a bundle of wires and did not realize I had disconcerted (read ""PULLED THE DUCE OUT) wires to the main turnout complex on the system. Everything was stuck and all three routes headed into the autoreversing rail up the bridge to Chateau de Vic. Found my FUBAR about 20 minutes before being picked up by the limo to the church. Yes I was out there in a Tux trying to find the problem, only to have the musician discover the problem after looking at the layout for about 45 seconds. DUMB! Soon as he pointed out the wire pointing to the sky, the problem was cured in about 15 seconds.

Yesterday I was showing off for my Woman, I was running one of my passinger trains around and through all four of my 10W switchs that have the dreaded short S cruve when used left and right or right to left in pairs with no transition section between the switchs ( 1st dumb thing ). As the train was picking up speed to go throgh second pair of switchs I did a quick Eyeball check and noticed one of the switchs was set wrong, since i was standing next to my wife and not next to control station. The Passinger train slamed into the last car of the next train I putting togeter (second dumb thing ). Then my Wife asked how was my day going, as she laughed all the way to the house.
Dumb as ever
