Stomper help
Posted by jerryl on Wednesday, October 8, 2008 6:49 AM
Tried almost everywhere to find "Stompers", Wallmart, KB, Boscovs, etc.  Target's web site said they carry them, but ours didn't have any. Anyone know where I can purchase them? Thanks,   Jerry

I'm having the same experience here in Arizona -- no Stompers.

One web site I was looking at shows some Hot Wheels models and calls them a Stomper, so maybe they're no longer called Stomper on the package.

They are not called Stompers anymore,

I got mine at Big Lots, but they were genericly labeled construction equipment toys made by New Bright Toys, it was the drive block under that gave away the heritage. you need to look for construction or 4x4 battery toys, its kinda a crap shoot, but mine were construction toys, dump truck, skiploader, bulldozer.

   Have fun with your trains

Vsmith,

What about the ones that are "radio control" or "remote control" with a controller connected to them through a cable?  Can they be modified to run just like a Stomper without using radio or remote control?  The store shelves here are filled with those types.

Check KB a little closer to Christmas time. DH worked at our local KB for 10 years and there would often be New Bright products (train sets, r/c trucks and cars, etc.).

Check everywhere on the friday after Thanksgiving! (WalMart, Target, KMart, KB, Toys-R-Us, Sears, anywhere ther is a christmas toy section) New Bright shows up everywhere.  Then look again two days after Chjristmas.  That's when New Bright hits 35%~50% off.  Last year I waited until mid January and picked up five New Bright sets for $5 each, engine, tender, box car, caboose, and loop of plastic track.

Have to be careful. Most of the RC cars are too wide. If the motor block is over 1.375 you may have a problem getting the wheels in gauge.
