Hi,

LGB switch motors are intended to work on half-wave DC.

They will work on DC, but you have to be careful if you actuate the control for too long - or worse if it welds itself - then you can burn them.

The diodes to get half-wave are built into the LGB switch boxes. But you can just as easily build your own panel by using the schematic on George Schreyer's site

While you're at it read the other tips. http://www.girr.org/girr/tips/tips1/lgb_1600.html#controls

Hope that helps

Cheers

ER

PS Happy New Year to everyone!

I wouldn't think so, however I have no experience with them.

However, motors tend to only run on either AC or DC, so an adapter for AC to DC, and vice versa should do the trick. (Hint - They're all in Radios too. If you can salvage one properly, just use that)

Do LGB switch motors work on DC as well as AC?
